There’s this girl I like but I don’t know if she is interested in me. Her birthday is coming up and I thought I’d get her a gift and then ask her for a date, but I’m wondering if I should sign a card with the gift or just send it without any card at all and then tell her later that it was from me. If you send a gift anonymously you are taking a big chance. She might think, “Oh, I hope this is from (you)!” and be delighted to find out she is right. But she also might think, “Oh, I hope this is from (anyone else than you)!” and be terribly disappointed when she learns the truth. Send the gift with signed card, wait a couple of days and then ask her for the date. Either she will accept or she will not be interested, but at least both of you will know from the get-go what is what and what isn’t what.
