My boyfriend wants us to get engaged and he's a great guy, but there's something I can't get past.
He was married before for a short time that ended in divorce. I get upset thinking about how there was someone else in his life before me. I know it is all over but I can't help feeling jealous when I think about how it must have been between them before it went bad.

You keep reminding yourself that his previous relationship could not have been all that wonderful or it would not have ended in divorce, so what do have to be jealous about?
Then you concentrate on making your relationship with him just as wonderful as it possibly can be.
