When Nahjah Wyatte-Munoz brought home gold in the 800m event at CARIFTA this year, the entire island celebrated. The pride and excitement surrounding his achievement reminded St. Maarten of what is possible when young people are given the right support and encouragement to rise.
Dynamics Sporting Club is the organization that has been quietly and consistently helping to shape some of St. Maarten’s most successful athletes. Over the years, the club is proud to have played a role in the development of athletes such as Shakeba Pink, the first athlete from St. Maarten to win a medal at CARIFTA; Carlos Brison Cainez, the first athlete from St. Maarten to win gold at the ISSA Boys and Girls Championships; and now Nahjah Wyatte-Munoz, whose gold medal has captured the heart of the island.
These successes are the result of years of training, mentorship, discipline and belief. Dynamics Sporting Club has become a space where young athletes are encouraged not only to compete, but also to grow into confident, focused and well-rounded individuals. The club believes participating in sports is about much more than winning races or collecting medals. It is about building character, teamwork, leadership and pride in representing the community.
At its core, the mission of Dynamics Sporting Club is to create opportunities for St. Maarten young people through sports, mentorship, discipline and community involvement. The club provides a safe and encouraging environment where children and teenagers can train, learn and develop their talents. Through regular athletic training sessions for different age groups, the organization promotes physical fitness, sportsmanship and personal responsibility.
The club also encourages its athletes to maintain balance between academics and athletics, reminding them that success on the field must go hand-in-hand with growth in other areas of life. Beyond training, Dynamics Sporting Club participates in school partnerships, youth development activities, awareness campaigns and family-oriented events that promote togetherness and healthy living.
Recently, the club’s athletes also participated in the SSS Games, where they once again represented St. Maarten with effort, teamwork and pride. Looking ahead, Dynamics Sporting Club hopes to expand its youth outreach programs, organize more community fitness events and continue creating opportunities for children to discover and develop their talents.
