Dear Queenie,
My boyfriend and I have been together for about 4 months now and to be honest I know what love feels like and let me be honest I am not in love. I try my best to break up with him but it just can’t come out of my mouth.
I don’t like people’s response. I’m the type of person who doesn’t like to disappoint, but what should I do? And I know he doesn’t love me also, but pretending to shake my head, why?
Queenie, what should I do? Why do I feel like this?—Confusion
Dear Confusion,
The two of you should start being honest with each other.
If by “together” you mean “living together” it is time for one of you to move out.
If you mean you have been seeing each other exclusively, it is time to break that commitment and start seeing others too. You could still date each other, but not exclusively.
As for why you feel the way you do, I suspect it is because you are afraid to have your lack of honesty become known. What I do not understand is why, feeling the way you do, you got “together” with him in the first place. That was not fair to either of you.
