When I started college I thought I wanted to be a doctor and I took the required pre-med courses. But I also got into a tutoring program for high school kids and now I think I really want to be a teacher.

You tell your parents just what you have told me.
As for the study financing, you will have to take that up with the relevant government department. However, St. Maarten needs good teachers as much as – or more than! – it needs doctors, so I am optimistic about your future.
