Winair upgrades to the SITA operating system

page7a097BAY--Winair is upgrading to air transport communications speciality system SITA. Eleven personnel members will receive training on the system at SITA headquarters in Atlanta this October, and then return to St. Maarten and train other Winair agency staff.

Winair is making the switch to be able to enhance services at all locations and departments, both in and out of St. Maarten. SITA is described as more robust, offers a number of enhancements, and will allow the airline to keep up with changing industry norms. It is also more user-friendly, which is expected to shorten training times for new employees.

The airline currently uses Travelport for reservations, customer check-in and operations. Implementation is set to take place in October or November.

"This investment in software and our personnel will pay dividends to Winair both in the short and long term and improve our ability to serve our customers moving forward in the ever changing environment of aviation" said Winair President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Cleaver.
