MARIGOT--Hundreds of air passengers are thought to have had their plans disrupted after the Air France flights last Saturday and the following Monday were cancelled, due to the on-going pilots' strike that has now been extended to September 30.
It was too early to know the situation about Thursday's scheduled flights to and from Paris. Air France assures passengers that 24 hours in advance it will know if the flight is on schedule, or has been cancelled, and will SMS or email passengers directly. It will also be posted on the website. There was no new information on the website www.airfrance.fr yesterday.
Passengers, whose flights have been cancelled, are being accommodated by the airline at Hotel Mercure, Beach Plaza Hotel and others.
An Air France spokesperson contacted yesterday had no information on whether many passengers had been able to book on Air Caraïbes or KLM flights as an alternative, neither was it known approximately how many passengers have been put up in hotels.
Air France indicated that passengers wishing to take alternative routes via the USA or Holland can have their tickets changed at Princess Juliana Airport or at a travel agency.
Passengers in effect have just three options; a 100-per-cent refund on their ticket, choosing another airline, and postponing any travel plans until the strike is over.
