Men arrested for robbing students

MULLET BAY--Two men were arrested after they were accused of robbing two visiting students on Mullet Bay Beach, a police press release stated.

The police received a call on Monday, September 23, around 4:30pm. They were informed that two tourists had just been robbed by two young men on the beach. The suspects had made off towards golf course.

A police patrol immediately attended the area to investigate. Upon arrival they saw the victims running across the golf course in pursuit of the suspects. The officers followed the victims into the nearby bushes where they encountered the two suspects, who were hiding.

The victims, both U.S. citizens and students at American University of the Caribbean, stated to the officers that the two suspects had stolen their belongings, and during the chase had thrown their belongings into the bushes.

Both suspects, with initials J.O.M (18) and H.H. (20), were arrested and taken to Philipsburg Police Station and placed in custody for further investigation. The victims filed an official report with the detective department.
