No replacement, candidate yet for Kadaster Director

PHILIPSBURG--No replacement has been found for Kadaster Director Clemens Roos since he was arrested recently, and there is "no potential candidate in mind," as confirmed with Board of Directors Secretary Vincent Boetius. However, in the meantime, Manager Marcia Peterson has been sworn in as Acting Conservator of Mortages (Hypotheek Bewaarder), the second role held by Roos.

Peterson disclosed in an invited comment that she had been sworn into the role on Friday. It is not certain whether Roos' eventual replacement will take this second post as well.

When asked about the post, Boetius said that he would be able to disclose more only at a later date following a meeting, but that there was at the moment "no potential candidate in mind," as the board "had other priorities to deal with."

Another question was if the circumstance would mean that the board would take extra precautions regarding candidate screening. To this end, he said that there are general practices which are applicable to any directorship when it comes to screening.

Roos was arrested June 24 on request of the Netherlands in connection with a pending sentence for having committed large-scale fraud with social benefits in the 1990s. He has to sit out 475 days in prison.
