St. Maarten International Championship

Three races have been completed St. Maarten International Championship at St. Maarten Speedway on the Great Bay Promenade. A total of 16 racers from Germany, the United States, Canada and host St. Maarten are competing in the four day competition.


Germany dominated the first race.  Rebecca Frobel took first place, her sister Hannah Frobel was second and the pair’s father Peter Frobel finished third in the Group 27 race. Trip Gage who divides his time between the United States and Philipsburg took first place in the Hill Billy Box race.  Burkhard Werner from Germany was second and Bernie Schatz (USA) placed third. St. Maarten Speedway and host of the annual competition Reggie Coram Jr won the 27 Lite division race. Mike Krebs (USA) finished second and Jeff Sarsisian also from the States was third. Racing continues Saturday at 4:30pm and Sunday starting at 4:00pm.
