CUL DE SAC--The A&A Supplies Friar's Bay Cricket Team remained in the Prime Pepsi sponsored limited overs knockout tournament with a 41-run win over Sol Masters at Caribe Lumber Ballpark, on Saturday.
Sol Masters were knocked out of the tournament after losing their second match in the tournament.
Friar's Bay compiled 117 all out in 18 overs after the match was reduced to 20 overs per side. In response, Sol Masters were bundled out for a paltry 76 in 19.2 overs.
When Friar's Bay batted, Alex Alexander top scored with 31 off 27 balls (2 fours). Manny Gonzales with 18 and Howard Giraud with 16 were the other players in double figures.
Medium pacer Romel Haynes had a brilliant opening spell of three early wickets to leave Friar's Bay tottering on three for 15. Nevertheless, the winners were able to tally 117 through some sensible batting.
Haynes finished with three for 21 in four overs while Federick Williams (three for 24 in four overs), Floyd Lewis (two for 14 in three overs) and David Duport (two for 20 in two overs) supported well.
Sol Masters, which comprise of mainly aged players, crumbled at the hands of the James brothers. Kenny collected three for five in four overs and Terry grabbed three for 16 in four overs.
Duport, the number 10 batsman led all scorers on his team with 24 off 17 balls, including three fours and one six. National Under-15 opening batsman Mohit Hingorani scored a patient 13 off 36 balls with one four.
The B-Division continues on February 6 with Rams Killer Beez taking on Future Champs A and on February 13, La Savanne goes up against Shop-4-Less Everest.
