AMSTERDAM--Napoli suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat to Dutch side AZ Alkmaar in the opening Group F fixture in the Europa League on Thursday evening.
Dani De Wit was the hero for the “Cheese Heads” in the second half, whose squad had been decimated due to COVID-19, and the “Partenopei” dominated possession throughout the match but they were not able to beat Marco Bizot in the Alkmaar goal.

Liverpool ride luck as own goal secures win at Ajax

AMSTERDAM- - Liverpool beat Ajax Amsterdam 1-0 away with a fortunate own goal in their Champions League group-stage opener on Wednesday, riding their luck at times but still showing their title credentials.

Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs run past Bills

NEW YORK --Rookie running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 161 yards on 26 carries Monday as the Kansas City Chiefs toppled the Buffalo Bills 26-17 at soggy Orchard Park, N.Y.
  The 100-yard game was the second for the first-round pick from LSU and came after the Chiefs (5-1) signed Le'Veon Bell following his release from the New York Jets. Bell, a two-time All-Pro running back, did not play while following COVID-19 protocol after reporting to the Chiefs last week.

Rashford strikes late as United sink PSG again

PARIS- - Manchester United got their Champions League campaign underway in emphatic style when Marcus Rashford's late goal earned them a 2-1 victory at Paris St Germain on Tuesday, handing the French champions their first group-stage home defeat in 16 years.

Steelers bomb Browns to move to 5-0

PITTSBURGH--James Conner rushed for 101 yards and a touchdown Sunday as the host Pittsburgh Steelers dominated their AFC North rival Cleveland Browns 38-7.
