Fed up friend

Dear Queenie,

A friend of ours is a recovering alcoholic and we are trying to be supportive. However, he has gotten into the habit of haranguing everyone about the dangers of drinking and how bad it is for you.

We are social drinkers, not alcoholics. We have a few drinks now and then but we don’t get drunk and his lectures make us really uncomfortable.

Queenie, how can we get him to lay off?—Fed up friend

Ambivalent

Dear Queenie,

My husband and I have been married for about 7 years and we have a daughter who is 4 years old.

Confused parents

Dear Queenie,
Our daughter is vexed with us because we have become good friends with her husband’s parents. The two families get together on holidays and special family occasions.
Queenie, are we doing something wrong?—Confused parents

Jealous girlfriend

Dear Queenie,

My boyfriend and I have been together for a couple of years now. I have a good job and can support the two of us, so I want him to quit his job and stay home to take care of our children because I’m afraid he will cheat on me with a co-worker or some woman he meets on the job.

Grieving friend

Dear Queenie,

My best friend died in an auto accident recently and I have heard that her family are going through her possessions and disposing of them. I would dearly love to have something of hers to remember her by.
