Dear Queenie,
My sister gave me a pretty necklace for my birthday. Sometime later I saw her daughter wearing matching earrings and I found out they came as a set with the necklace but my sister split them up.
Queenie, should I feel insulted? Maybe I should give my niece the necklace so she can have the whole set?—Confused Sister
Dear Confused,
As they say, “Don’t sweat the small stuff.” If you do not like the necklace, donate it to charity, or just do not wear it and leave it to your niece in your will. But do not waste time and energy thinking about this. It is not worth the effort.
