Dear Editor,
The excitement of the start of a new school year is brimming in many hearts, while others are anxious about the unknown.
Whether they are teachers, students, or parents and the loved ones of both, these are real feelings which we all have to deal with at some point in our lives.
The beauty of teaching is the influence on a single life, multiplied by the amount of souls entrusted to your care. What you bring to the classroom, what you’ve prepared and what you do, how you engage each of these souls, will impact their lives forever.
So, take care of you. Be ready, be prepared, and be open to learn as well as teach and start each day afresh.
God bless all teachers, management and support staff, including bus drivers, as you go about your noble tasks for school year 2018-2019. The most important lesson you should take from 2017-2018 is: YES, YOU CAN despite any and all challenges. With a positive attitude and eye on your goal, you did it!
To the students, make the most of every learning moment on your journey, even the holidays and vacation days. Education is continuous and not confined to the walls of your classrooms or school. Learn from each experience, explore your world and share!
Remember your teachers and classmates are human too.
Parents/guardians and loved ones, please support and encourage your children to step up and be their best selves, not necessarily little clones of you. Each soul has a purpose, help your child find his/hers, allow them to work hard to strengthen their wings to fly.
Be kind and show gratitude to the teachers who sometimes spend more time with them than you do and will influence their lives. Create a relationship with them to improve your child’s success in their class(es) and in their lives. Education is more than RRR, it is social development, the arts and sports as well. Education starts in the womb, you are your child’s first teacher. Take this role seriously.
A blessed and successful school year 2018-2019 to one and all!
