Taekwondo classes resume with Grandmaster Theo Liu

ST. PETERS--The King Yen Taekwondo School under the direction of Grandmaster Theo Liu resumed training at the Hillside Christian School, Helmich Snijders Campus, in St. Peters on Thursday.

Trainings days will be Thursday and Sunday together with the students from Middle Region as the Sister Marie Laurence School where classes are normally held, is not in operation yet.
Taekwondo continued Sunday but was interrupted by the weather.
“The strong rain partially disturbed the training with leaks from the roof,” said the Grandmaster. “It was very slippery for the young children.”
Liu continued, “Maybe the Military Engineering Company that is helping rebuilding our island can place at least some tamponing's over the partially damaged roof so our students can enjoy their training which they needed mentally and physically.”
St. Maarten Taekwondo has received much support. “The World Taekwondo Federation and many of the countries our teams have visited and participated in their tournaments have sent well wishes,” said Liu. “Most of the time we come back from a tournament with the trophy of the Best Team International. Most recently was May 2017 from Aruba.”
The grandmaster continued, “Despite this big setback our students promise to still make our island proud......whatever happens!”
