Soualiga Challenge returns Reloaded

 

SIMPSON BAY--The Soualiga Challenge Reloaded will be held on April 6.
Organized by the St. Maarten Canoe Federation, the 23km down-wind paddle will feature Surfski Single, open Surfski Doubles, open Outrigger Canoe Single, open Stand-up Paddle board and open Class.


The race will start, weather permitting, at Isle Fourche, St. Barthelemy and finishing in Simpson Bay. The area normally has winds of 15 knots and swells of 1.5 meters from the east or southeast.
Thus far 15 surfski and 7 paddlers have registered to compete.
Soualiga Challenge Reloaded is a qualifier to select the National team that will represent St. Maarten at the World Championships in France later this year. Spectators can expect the paddlers to start arriving on Kim Sha Beach by Buccaneer Beach Bar starting at 3.30pm on Saturday.
