Yesterday, Wednesday, October 21, SXM Festival took over Amsterdam Dance Event (the world's largest electronic music conference) with two gatherings that carried the spirit of St. Martin/St. Maarten from early evening into the night. As the festival approaches its tenth anniversary – “A Decade in Paradise” – the Amsterdam takeover was another stop on the road to the SXM Festival, scheduled for March 17 – March 21, 2027.
The evening started at NIDO Cocktail Bar (5:00pm – 10:00pm) before moving to The Bulldog Palace (9:30pm – 4:00am). ADE featured over 3000 artists, taking over clubs, venues and warehouses across Amsterdam. Since 2016, SXM Festival has built its reputation on exceptional electronic music, extraordinary settings, and moments that turn strangers into familiar faces across the beaches and venues of St. Martin/St. Maarten. These international takeovers help put the island on the global cultural map while building visibility and opportunities for its tourism economy.
Following a recent Paris gathering, Amsterdam is the next meeting point for a community connected by a shared love of music. This October, the canals replace the coastline, but the connection remains.
Next up on the island: Panorama Sessions 009, November 7, Rainforest Adventures St. Maarten, produced by the SXM Festival.
