Four Under 15 cricketers off to Leeward Islands training camp

AIRPORT--Four young cricketers from St. Maarten were selected to attend a training camp in Antigua which starts today.


The four youngsters are set to make a claim to represent the Leeward Islands in the Cricket West Indies U15 regional tournament which starts on April 11 in Antigua.
The four local players are Nathan Edwards from Sundial School, Randal Longville from St. Maarten Vocational Technical Secondary School, Devanand Singh from the Rev. John A. Gumbs Campus and T'yanick Honore from the Orange Primary School.
Players from around the Leeward Islands are gathered in Antigua for the training camp which goes on for three days. During that time, the players are expected to play three one-day matches, beginning today.
The outstanding players will be selected for the Leeward Islands U15 team and will remain in Antigua for further training.
Cricket St. Maarten wishes the four youngster all the best as they take another step in fulfilling their dreams and aspirations. "Be respectful, be hardworking and be enthusiastic about what you do and good results will follow you," was the admonition the players received from the board.
