Man Utd Transfer News: Striker Liandro Martis on trial at Carrington

Liandro Martis poses at Manchester United's Carrington training ground.

Martis is currently unattached and was spotted by United scouts while training with League One side Oldham. The Manchester Evening News claim the striker caught the eye with a stunning goal for the Latics during their 3-1 defeat to Preston last month.

And United have now handed the 20-year-old a trial and invited him to train at Carrington with the view to integrating him into their U23 squad. Leicester are also in for the forward along with Oldham and Martis has admitted he's close to making a decision on his future. "I went into Leicester for a day and felt comfortable and got an offer," he said. "Then I went into Manchester United for a week and received good feedback from Warren Joyce and could have earned a deal had I waited, but I just want to get my career started. "I am confident in my ability. I've played a number of games to obtain fitness and have done well. "Oldham have offered me a deal and we have been in negotiations for two weeks. "I am nearing a decision on my future and I want to make the right decision for the next stage of my career."
