PHILIPSBURG— Kooyman faced defending champion Gulf Insurance in the final of the Oualichi Soccer Association’s annual Futsal Business Tournament at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium on Friday.
Six companies, Kooyman, Motorworld, Windward Islands Bank, Gulf Insurances Limited, SZV and SXM Legal 2019 competed in the fundraising event that raises money for the Oualichi football teams (women, youth and men) to further develope football players as athletes of the club and St. Maarten.
Kooyman and Gulf Insurance advanced to the final without loss. Kooyman was eventually crowned champions via penalty shoot-out.
“Oualichi is grateful for all the companies which contributed to the development of football by participating in this fundraising event,” said Oualichi President Dagmar Daal. “It was a memorable one and everybody contributed to a great atmosphere by showing excellent team spirit.”
