MARIGOT—A woman was fatally shot in the car park of the Leader Price Supermarket complex, Mont Vernon, Wednesday morning at around 9:30, in what appeared to be an opportunistic robbery.
A witness indicated the woman was approached by a man when she was about to get into her car. It was not clear whether she had been shopping in the supermarket or at other shops in the complex.
It was understood the woman died of her injuries, but unclear if she passed away at the scene or on the way to hospital.
No further information could be obtained from the Gendarmerie by 1:00pm. An update will be posted later.
