Winair starts flights to Haiti, Curaçao June 3

SIMPSON BAY--Travelers heading to Haiti and Curaçao now have another alternative air carrier – Windward Islands Airways International Winair. The local airline will start its semi-weekly service on Tuesday and Saturday to the two routes as of June 3.

An MD-82 aircraft will be used for the Curaçao-St. Maarten-Haiti-St. Maarten-Curaçao route. The introduction of the Haiti link makes Winair the only airline with a St. Maarten- Haiti-St. Maarten flight. The flights – 803 and 804 – will connect with Winair’s extensive Caribbean route network to give travellers more options.

For the past several months, “Winair has received calls from customers frustrated with the existing air transportation options to Curaçao and Haiti,” said Winair President and Chief Executive Officer Michael Cleaver. This market demand pushed Winair to enter into those markets, he said.

Booking is now open for both flights and can be reserved via fly-winair.sx, travel agencies or booking website.
