Two polling stations to open for COCI elections Friday

PHILIPSBURG--Businesses will have two options to cast their ballots for a representative of their choice in the St. Maarten Chamber of Commerce and Industry (COCI) board elections scheduled for this Friday, December 6.

The two polling stations will be located at the COCI office in Philipsburg and at the Simpson Bay Public Service Center. Both will be open from 8:30am to 12:00pm.

Seven persons will be vying for a chance to take up one of three openings on the COCI board. Six persons were nominated for the one seat to represent the small business sector and four persons (three of whom were also nominated for the small business sector) were nominated for the two seats for the large business sector.

The six candidates for the small business sector are Jaques Annicette, Aurillio Baly, Mirurgia Brown, Edsel Gumbs, Vinod Kotai and Claudia Lista. The four candidates for the large business sector are Baly, Brown, Lista and Charlise Philips.
