Halloween weekend is here, and in Saint Martin-Sint Maarten, there’s no reason to settle for tricks when the island has so many treats in store! From cocktails by the pool, delicious dinners and live music, to costume parties, spooky adventures, and late-night dancing, this is the weekend to dress up, let loose, and indulge a little.
Whether you’re in the mood for a lively night out, a relaxed spot to sip cocktails, somewhere new to eat, or an excuse to hit the dancefloor in your most outrageous costume, The Friendly Island has something for everyone – and the fun doesn’t stop when Halloween is over. Sunday brings even more reasons to get out and enjoy the island!
Thursday, October 29: Four-legged friends get in on the fun
Treat yourself to a date with your doggie because who says dressing up is just for humans? Get your furry companion ready for Yappy Hour at Dinghy Dock, from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Kick off the long Halloween weekend with some canine cuteness. The competition for best doggie costume could be fierce, and there’s an extra reason to join in – SXM Paws will receive 50% of proceeds.
Friday, October 30: Start the party early
Why wait until Halloween night? Friday is the perfect opportunity to get into the spirit of things ahead of schedule. Rock fans can head to Gringos at 9:00pm for Live Music Rock Night, while soca lovers can dance the night away at Fyah Under Yuh Foot Soca Halloween at Aleeze Convention Center, starting at 10:00pm. For those who prefer live music with their dinner, Pineapple Pete welcomes Ronny Santana from 6:30 to 9:30pm.
Saturday, October 31: Halloween takes over the island
Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, giving you an entire day and night to celebrate. Whether your idea of a perfect evening involves a delicious dinner, cocktails with friends, karaoke, live music, or dancing until late, there are plenty of ways to make the most of it.
Topper’s: A Halloween tradition worth keeping
Some Halloween traditions are simply too good to miss, and Topper’s Halloween Party is one of the island’s long-running favourites. Starting at 5:00pm, this annual celebration brings together dinner, drinks, entertainment, and all the playful Halloween extras that make the occasion memorable. Come hungry, because the dinner specials include prime rib, lobster, salmon, and snapper. Of course, Halloween at Topper’s is about much more than dinner. Expect jello shots, rhum, gelato, candy, bobbing for apples, prizes, and karaoke starting at 8:00pm. Whether you’re ready to show off your singing skills, join in the games, or simply soak up the festive atmosphere, there’s plenty to enjoy. Dinner, drinks, and Halloween fun all under one roof! What’s not to love?
Pineapple Pete: Live music, games, and entertainment
If you’re looking for somewhere that offers more than just a meal or a drink, Pineapple Pete deserves a spot on your weekend itinerary. The live music continues throughout the weekend, with saxophonist Gordon performing from 6:30 to 9:30pm on Saturday. And there’s plenty more to explore. Pineapple Pete features the island’s largest arcade, along with a virtual gaming room, making it a destination for those who enjoy a little friendly competition alongside their good food, great drinks, and live music.
Treat yourself to something new: Conch Pearls Bar & Grill
One of the best treats is discovering somewhere new, and Conch Pearls Bar & Grill – recently opened in Simpson Bay across the street from Captain’s Rib Shack – is worth adding to your list. If you’ve been meaning to try a new dining spot, why not make this the weekend? Halloween is the perfect excuse to explore somewhere different, enjoy a meal, and toast to new experiences. After all, treating yourself doesn’t always have to mean dressing up and dancing until midnight; it can be as simple as discovering your next favourite place.
Cocktails, poolside relaxation, and a little luxury at SALT
Not everyone wants a packed dancefloor and a midnight costume contest. Sometimes, the best Halloween treat is a refreshing cocktail and a chance to unwind. For a more relaxed experience, head to SALT at The Morgan Resort. Sip a cocktail, settle in poolside, and enjoy a more laid-back side of island life. It’s a lovely option for couples, friends, or anyone who would rather trade the party crowds for a relaxed atmosphere and a little indulgence. Sometimes, the best way to celebrate is to slow down and simply enjoy the moment.
Happy hours and early-evening fun
Ready to get the celebrations underway? Several venues offer a reason to head out early and make a full evening of it.
At Replay Bar, Halloween Happy Hour begins at noon, with 50% off for guests in costume. So don’t wait until dark to reveal your Halloween look!
Over at Mary’s Boon, the Spooktacular Halloween celebration begins at 4:00pm. With happy hour leading into a DJ party that continues all night, it’s a great option for those who want to start early and keep the energy going well into the evening.
At Rendez Vous Lounge, the Halloween party with live music begins at 6:30pm, offering another opportunity to enjoy good music and a festive atmosphere.
Keep the night going: Music, anniversaries, and costume parties
As the evening progresses, the island’s party scene comes alive with even more options. At Red Piano, the Halloween Bash featuring Cliff & Susan begins at 8:00pm, making it a great stop for music lovers. Amore Lounge Bar welcomes guests to its Halloween Party with DJ Outkast at 10:00pm. And if a Caribbean pirate theme is more your style, head to Soggy Dollar Bar for its famous annual Pirates of the Night Costume Party, also at 10:00pm. With great prizes and plenty of opportunities to show off your costume, it’s the perfect excuse to channel your inner pirate and embrace the Halloween spirit. Night owls looking to win big should head to Rouge et Noir Casino in Philipsburg, which is hosting a Mega Bingo Weekend on October 30 and 31, giving away US $10,000 at 12:30am. So many events to choose from, the real trick may be deciding where to go first!
Sunday, November 1: Keep the good times rolling
Who says the fun has to end when Halloween night is over? Sunday offers even more reasons to get out and enjoy the island. November 1 also marks Día de los Muertos – or Day of the Dead – a Mexican tradition honouring loved ones who have passed away through remembrance, flowers, food, and colourful celebrations. Although distinct from Halloween, it adds another cultural dimension to this festive time of year. And if your idea of Sunday involves good food, a refreshing drink, and great music, there are plenty of ways to treat yourself.
Craving tacos? Make a stop at La Patrona, Gringos, 3 Amigos, or Sandbar and treat yourself to some Mexican-inspired flavours. At Mary’s Boon, the weekend continues with its Sunday Funday party, featuring a DJ spinning tunes from 1:00pm. It’s an ideal way to carry the Halloween weekend spirit into Sunday afternoon. For something a little more musical, head to Rendez Vous Lounge, where a live jazz band performs from 1:00 to 4:00pm. Reservations are highly recommended, so plan ahead if you’d like to enjoy an afternoon of live jazz. And the music continues into the evening at Pineapple Pete, where Gordon returns on saxophone from 6:30 to 9:30pm. It’s a lovely way to round off the weekend with live music and a relaxed atmosphere.
And for the adults who have little monsters at home?
Halloween weekend isn’t just for grown-ups! If you have children, there are plenty of opportunities for the little ones to get dressed up, enjoy some spooky fun, and collect their own Halloween treats before the adults head out for the evening.
