Several vehicles, illegally parked on the side of the road close to the Emmaplein double bridge, were towed on Wednesday.
The vehicles created a dangerous traffic situation by blocking the view of drivers leaving to bridge onto Buncamper Road. A slim bricked sidewalk runs along the roadside, which is hemmed by a strip of unpaved land where some drivers have taken to parking their vehicles by driving over the sidewalk. In some placed, where no buffer land exists, drivers just park on the sidewalk thus obstructing pedestrian traffic. This phenomenon is a result of limited public parking in the area. Paid parking is available a short distance away at Bobby's Marina.
