Suspected shooter at football game arrested, victim in critical condition

MARIGOT--A suspect was arrested and taken into custody Tuesday for the shooting of a 15-year-old boy at a football match in the Louis Vanterpool Stadium, Marigot, on Saturday, the Guadeloupe Prosecutor confirmed to the French media. He added the victim is in critical condition.

According to the prosecutor the incident stemmed from an argument between two individuals in the stands when one slapped the other in the face. That resulted in the other pulling out a gun and firing it, the bullet missing the one who slapped him, instead hitting the 15-year-old innocent victim, reportedly in the abdomen.

The Prosecutor indicated the shooter will be charged with attempted homicide in Pointe-à-Pitre.

After a 48-hour search the alleged perpetrator was located at his place of employment and arrested effortlessly on Tuesday, November 12.
