SURFACE WINDS:
Today through Tuesday midday: East to southeast with a moderate to fresh breeze of 13 to 22 miles per hour and occasional higher gusts.

SYNOPSIS:
Lingering moisture associated with a tropical wave located just west of the Caribbean archipelago may cause isolated showers over the local region for today. Chances of shower activity will decrease by tomorrow as a drier air mass settles over the region. Also, the Atlantic high pressure system will continue to generate brisk easterly winds.

Seas are expected to gradually deteriorate and peak near 8 feet on Today. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 10am, Tropical Storm Danielle approaching Mexico, spreading heavy rain across eastern Mexico. This system poses no threat to St. Maarten.

OUTLOOK through Wednesday midday: Partly cloudy with isolated showers possible.
