SYNOPSIS: 
The weather over St. Maarten will continue to improve gradually as Tropical Storm Erika moves further away. However, lingering moisture and instability may cause some showers across the region. 
Seas are peaking at 8 feet, but are expected to subside gradually. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise extreme caution.

STATE OF THE SEA:  Moderate to rough           WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet

At 11AM, Tropical Storm Erika was located near 17.7 N 69.4 W or about 284 miles west southweast of St. Maarten. It is moving west-northwest at 18 mph with maximun sustained winds 50 mph.

The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system.
