St. Maarten Carnival in full swing

A large turnout participated in the annual Carnival Opening Jump-Up Saturday evening. The jump-up started in St. Peters and made its way to Carnival Village where there were the customary words of welcome from St. Maarten Carnival Development Foundation’s main sponsor TelEm Group and government.

Minister of Tourism Stuart Johnson welcomed visitors and residents to the village and congratulated St. Maarten Carnival Foundation for its hard work thus far towards Carnival 2019. Carnival Village, better known as the Caribbean's biggest kitchen, will be open daily for the next two weeks for food-lovers to wine and dine at their respective booths.
