SABA--A suspect in the so-called “Hector” investigation involving the murder of a student at Saba University School of Medicine in April 2015 was extradited from the United States to Bonaire on Sunday, January 15.
Suspect S.C. (31) from Bosnia was transferred by US authorities in Atlanta, Georgia, to the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force KPCN on Sunday. He arrived in Bonaire by air, according to a statement issued by the Prosecutor’s Office of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba on Sunday.
S.C. is suspected of having killed student Kavya Guda (24) on April 15, 2015. He is suspected of rape, threats and possession of child pornography.
S.C. was extradited by the US authorities at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office in Bonaire. The petition for his extradition was filed on August 17, 2016. The extradition was considered permissible by a court of law in the United States on November 22, 2016.
S.C. will now be led in front of a Judge of Instruction in Bonaire. If his pre-trial detention is allowed, S.C. will then be heard by members of the police team in charge of the Hector investigation comprising investigators from KPCN, the National Police Force and the Royal Military Police (“Marechaussees”).
