Progress report meeting postponed due to weather  

 

PHILIPSBURG--The urgent plenary meeting between Parliament and Justice Minister Cornelius de Weever scheduled for today, Tuesday, at 2:00pm is postponed due to inclement weather associated with a passing tropical wave.

  The meeting was to discuss the Progress Committee’s report on the police department and prison and the proposed measures to be taken to improve the deplorable condition. The meeting had been set for 2:00pm in Parliament House.

  The meeting was requested by MPs Frans Richardson and Rolando Brison (United St. Maarten Party) and by MPs Silveria Jacobs, Egbert Doran, Christophe Emmanuel, William Marlin, and Ardwell Irion (National Alliance).
