- JOHN’S ESTATE--The thirty students of the Methodist Agogic Centre-Comprehensive Secondary Education (MAC-CSE) have “performed excellently” in the school’s second sitting of the Caribbean Examinations Council-Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate CXC-CSEC examinations. They attained an overall pass rate of 98 per cent, the school announced on Sunday.
The students wrote 19 subjects with a total of 286 entries. All of them have satisfied the requirements for graduation. One student passed 16 subjects, five students passed 11, six passed 10 subjects, seven passed nine, eight students passed eight subjects and three students passed seven subjects. One student achieved eight grade ones.
The students obtained a 100-per-cent pass rate in 15 subjects: Biology, Caribbean History, Chemistry, English A, Geography, Human and Social Biology, Information Technology, Integrated Science, Music, Physical Education and Sport, Physics, Principles of Accounts, Principles of Business, Religious Education and Visual Arts.
The pass rates for the other four subjects range from 67 to 97 per cent.
Students in the fourth sitting of the CXC-Caribbean Certificate of Secondary Level Competence (CCSLC) examinations for the school also “performed excellently.” They attained an overall pass rate of 98 per cent. They wrote five subjects.
The students obtained 100 per cent passes in English, French, Integrated Science, Social Studies and Spanish. The pass rate for Mathematics was 94 per cent.
The Chairman and Members of the School Board of the Methodist Agogic Centre Foundation together with the Executive Director congratulate the students, staff and management on the examination results at both CXC levels.
