A joint search and rescue mission consisting of VKS members, Fire Department, paramedics and police took place in the area of the Pointe Blanche prison at approximately 8:00am Sunday to locate and rescue a mentally-challenged man J.R. who seemed not to be able to find his way out of the area. The area was searched and J.R. was located approximately 300 metres into the bushes from the main street. Police reported on Sunday that he had been found naked and not wearing any shoes. He was treated by paramedics and taken to Mental Health Foundation for further treatment. The police thanked all servicemen and -women for their quick response to the call.
