Tropical Storm Karen’s passing created waves that deposited large amounts of seaweed on Great Bay Beach and Boardwalk Boulevard. Garbage was also part of the debris, as bottles, cans and other refuse items were embedded in the seaweed, creating an eyesore and nuisance for persons using the popular tourist strip on Tuesday. It is unclear whether the trash washed ashore or was on land and simply moved about by the waves.
