Health reps trained in family planning

PHILIPSBURG--The Health Ministry’s Department of Collective Preventive Services (CPS) trained its Youth Health Care Section staffers along with White and Yellow Cross Care Foundation (YWCCF) and St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) nurses on using family planning as a decision-making tool.

The training was held to provide participants with the tools needed to support clients and other interested persons in making “well-informed” decisions about planned pregnancies.

The nurses trained include Chantrelle Bonaparte, Suella Sanderson, Edward de Cuba, Suzianne Duzong-Davis, Ivanca Sterling, Shardina Blomont-Frederick, Lesa Mercurius, Sheryl Carty-Fleming and Marie St. Cyr.
