Weak instability and available low level moisture may trigger a few brief showers across our local area. Additionally, the weak Atlantic high pressure ridge will account for light winds.
Seas will remain slight today, however an increase in the wave period will account for above normal conditions throughout the weekend. Small craft operations should exercise caution.

At 11 am, Tropical Storm Fred was located about 1275 miles southwest of the Azores. This system poses no threat to the local area.
