Anguilla Police make 2 arrests

ANGUILLA--The Royal Anguilla Police Force (RAPF) on Wednesday, June 6, arrested 35-year-old Lenroy Bryan of Tackling Estate for possession of cannabis and possession of cannabis with intent to supply. He was later charged and taken before the Magistrate’s Court.

On Thursday, June 7, he was granted bail in the sum of EC $30,000 bond with one surety. He is to re-appear in court on Monday, July 23, to answer to the charge. The conditions of the bail are that he has to report to The Valley Police Station every Friday between 6:00am and 6:00pm, and to be of good behaviour and keep the peace.

The police also report that a juvenile male was arrested for possession of amphetamines. The 16-year-old from North Side was charged and taken before the Magistrate. On Thursday, June 7, he was granted bail in the sum of EC $5,000 with one surety, to reappear in Court on Monday, July 2, to answer to the charge.

His conditions of bail are to observe a curfew from 6:00pm to 6:00am daily and to be within the confines of his father’s home and answer to the police at any time during routine curfew checks. He is to reside with his father at North Side until the matter is resolved.

The police are also reporting a serious accident involving three motor vehicles that occurred in the area of the Bethel Methodist Church, on June 7. As a result of that collision, two men – Syrett Bryan of Island Harbour who was one of the drivers, and his passenger Dave Fleming, also of Island Harbour – sustained injuries and left the scene with the Emergency Medical Technicians. The police are still carrying out inquiries into the collision and are appealing for witnesses.
