Twenty-three sailors race in Hoedemaker Dinghy Series

 SIMPSON BAY—Frits Bus took first place in the Laser Class in day two of the Hoedemaker Dinghy Series, organized by the St. Maarten Yacht Club. Jolyon Ferron was second and David de Vries finished third in class.


The Hoedemaker Series is part of the Grant Thornton Season Championship. Twenty-Three boats, divided into five classes were on the water for the second day of racing in moderate manageable and relatively consistent breezes.
Garth Steyn dominated the Sunfast class adding another three wins to his previous perfect score. Iain Mobbs tied with Petro Jonker for second place but the ties was broken in favor of Jonker.

  Ajani Blake dominated the Laser Pico class and looks ready to step up to a class with more competition. Melina de Vries took second.

 Caii Banting led the Optimist class. Chris de Wilde and Adriaan Coppelmans battled for second with Coppelmans winning.
   The Quest class continues to be dominated by Summer Jean Morton and Mathijs Detering. The team of Arthur Banting and Caoimhe Brennan placed second despite they turned their boat over and dug the mast in the lagoon mud. Louka Williams and Param Jessani took third.
