ST. EUSTATIUS -- The Thunderz once again raised the championship trophy above their heads as they won the 2021 Statia Softball finals. Thunderz went up against the Lions with a 2-0 lead in the best of 5 series in Game 3 of the finals Sunday.
The Lions jumped out to a large early lead. By the 7th inning Lions were up 14-9. The Thunderz boomed back and won 15-14.
With the win Thunderz defended their 2019 title to win back to back finals. The 2020 Statia softball finals was cancelled due to the pandemic. Thunderz were undefeated in the playoffs as they swept both their series.
After the win some of the Thunderz players ran to their vehicles and grabbed their brooms and swept the home plate.
