Test Your Skills features six bouts, twelve fighters

PHILIPSBURG--Three championship belts were up for grabs at the Test Your Skills Boxing Gala, a tribute to Louis Gibs and Alfonso Blijden at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium on Saturday. Jaybon Dania from Curacao took the top prize. In the main event he defeated St. Maarten's Malcolm Phillips by a unanimous decision. He captured one championship belt and was declared Best Boxer of the Night. Jan Zalaan from Antigua walked away with the second belt.

He bested Daguil Gre from St. Maarten by unanimous decision. The third belt went to Max Langdon from St. Maarten who beat Ricky Hernandez from Aruba, also by unanimous decision. “We had a great crowd come out to watch the boxers.” said organizer Shawn Blair president of the St. Maarten National Boxing Federation.

“The minister of Sports (Rodolphe Samuel ) and the St. Maarten Government got us the ring. We now have our own ring,” In the other three fights of the six card evening Kade Billingate from Anguilla beat Kibwana James from Antigua; Richard Josue from St. Maarten defeated Christian Whyte from and Anquilla and Michael Emmanuel from St. Maarten recorded a Technical Knock Out over Dantana Lambert also from St. Maarten.
