ST. EUSTATIUS— City Boys jumped out to a 7-0 lead as the St. Eustatius Softball Association (SESBA) competition began their second round Sunday. Lions roared back with a blowout victory of 26-6.
Sastri Rivers, the centerfielder for Lions, was the team’s best batter going 3 for 5 with 4 RBI's and scored 3 runs. Another outstanding showing was by Alfredo "Big P" Schmidt, who had 2 infield home runs, 1 triple and 1 double.
The umpire for the game was Marlon Hook.
There was a friendly game between women's teams, Bengay Shotaz and Lightening. Bengay Shotaz won 16-6.
St. Eustatius softball round 2 continues on Saturday October 7, as Thunderz face City Boys.
On Sunday, City Boys will go up against Los Tiburones and Lions match up against the Thunderz.
The standings 2017 male division are first place Lions 4 - 1, second Thunderz 3 - 1, third Los Tiburones 3 - 1, fourth Dynamite 1 - 3 and fifth City Boys 0 - 5.
