St. Maarten carries beginners to Tae kwon do competition

MIDDLE REGION--Six members of Team St. Maarten will be competing in their first international Tae kwon Do Competition in Santo Domingo October 23.  The group is part of the 16 member strong team from the King Yen Tae kwon do School in Middle Region.  


  The team ranges in age from six to 16.  Competing for the first time are Jaden Batista, Leomar Dolphin, Myles Holiday, Matthew Persaud, Maxim Persaud and D'Andre Victor.
  Also competing are Ronaldo Candia –Williams, Mahelia    Artiles Gadishaw, Caitlin Amatkasmoeri,
Gimora Calmero, Owen Christian, Lee-Ann Liu, Kendall Mathew, Marcellius Mathew, Aden Mathew and Maalik Richardson.
  The team is led by Grand master Theo Liu and is supported by four team officials, a sports therapist and 20 parents.
  The is expected to draw teams from Puerto Rico, St. Croix, Chili, Mexico, Panama, New York, Orlando, Canada, and host Dominican Republic.
