Sixty-five compete in St. Maarten Open

MULLET BAY—Marlin George from Antigua was crowned the 2019 St. Maarten Open Golf Champion.  George shot a 153.  David Ward from St. Maarten shot a 123 to win tournament low net.


  A total of 65 players completed in the annual Charity golf competition organized by the St. Maarten Golf Association.
  While some joked about the dessert like conditions on the course scores were low.
Ladies low gross went to Marie Gibbons of the United States with a 173. Marc Grenouilleau of St. Martin shot a 163 to take low gross in the men’s first flight. Andy Wescott took Men’s second flight low gross with a 183.
  Jean Paul Clerc of St. Martin  shot a 164 to win senior first flight  low gross and Lester Samuel of Anguilla won Senior second flight with a 184.
  Keith Graham took super senior first flight low gross at 171 and David Ward had low gross in the super senior second flight.
  Stanley Samuel of St. Maarten was the low net champion with a score of 142. Oli Tinitali won the ladies group with a 151.
  Andy Holmes of St. Maarten shot 140 to win men first flight low net and
men 2nd flight went to  L A de Pompign of St. Martin with a 145.
  Tony Lake of St. Maarten took senior first flight shooting 135 while second  senior flight went to Glenford Gumbs of Angullia  with a 144.  Tony Burn took low net in the super senior first flight with a 141 and Hilroy Humphreys of Antigua won super senior second flight with a 155.
