ST. EUSTATIUS -- The Lions once again the St. Eustatius Softball Association Champions. Lions jumped out to an early 10-0 leadin Game three of the best of five final at the Sonny Cranstone Ballfield Saturday night.
The score was 12-1 when Lion’s starting pitcher and Captain, Garry Brown Sr. was struck in the head by a batted ball.
Brown was taken to the hospital for observation.
The game continued with Osandey Beete taking the mound.
Thunderz battled back but it was to little to late. The game ended 12-11.
Garry Brown Sr. was named Most Outstanding Pitcher. Bernadine “Dine” Pandt, the mother of his children, accepted the award in his absence.
