Islands split the spoils of regional basketball tourney

French Quarter Phoenicks Basketball Team went undefeated in the Under 13 division of the Statia, Saba, St. Maarten Basketball Tournament at the LB Scott Sports Auditorium.

PHILIPSBURG—Team Statia dominated the Under 17 division, Team St. Maarten won the Under 15 group and Team Phoenicks dominated both the under 13 and Under 11 groups without loosing a game in the Statia, Saba, St. Maarten Basketball Tournament at the LB Scott Sports Auditorium May 19 to 21.

The competition was organized by the SXMNBA and featured athletes from both sides of the Friendly Island, Statia and Saba. The tournament aimed to foster a sense of unity, sportsmanship, and mutual respect among the participating islands. Making the competition possible were SXMNBA, Diker Sports Training Academy, Child Focus Foundation, French Quarter Phoenicks Basketball Team, Thunderz LS/GC, Sandy Ground Pelicans Basketball Team, SXM Sports Mouvement, coaches, referees, and volunteers who dedicated their time and energy to ensure the success.
