MARIGOT--An opening ceremony and presentation of delegations for the first edition of the Luciano Freedom U17 basketball tournament took place Friday afternoon in the newly-renovated Omnisports Hall Galis Bay.
Countries contesting the tournament are Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Guiana, and French St. Martin.
Opening addresses were given by Senator Guillaume Arnell and Territorial Councillor for Sports Alain Gros-Desormeaux.
The first games that were played after the opening ceremony were French Guiana versus Martinique, and at 6:00pm, Guadeloupe against St. Martin. Results of those games were not immediately available.
Today at 9:00am, Martinique takes on St. Martin, followed by French Guiana against Guadeloupe at 11:00am.
Guadeloupe plays Martinique at 5:00pm, followed by French Guiana against St. Martin at 7:00pm.
Prize giving and individual trophy presentations are scheduled for 8:30pm.
