MAHO—Bikini Wellness athlete Lu Gutierrez earned a pro card at the first International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB) Pro Diamond Cup competition on The Friendly Island Sunday.
Hosted by the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of St. Martin the competition at the Sonesta Maho Beach Resort featured top athletes competing in two amateur divisions seeking to become Pros and a separate Pro event.
Team St. Maarten participated in the competition and placed well for some first timers part taking in such a show of this calibre, said president Cleopatra Carti.
In addition to earning a pro card Gutierrez took first place in Bikini Wellness. Other St. Maarten athletes placing were Desmond Patterson second place Men’s Bodybuilding, Ramy Quettant third place Men’s Physique over 178cm, Marvia Laurence third place Bikini Wellness, Burnagis Brown fourth place Men’s Physique, Latchmam Beni fifth place Men’s Physique and Lucyene Nicholas fifth place in Bikini.
