Elvina Matthew adds Pro Card to Bikini Class win

MARIGOT—French St. Martin’s Josephine Elvina Matthew won the Tall Bikini Class category at the Body Building and Fitness Association of St. Martin’s (BFASM) eighth International Federation of Body Builders (IFBB) inter-island championship held at the Secret’s Resort and Spa on Saturday night.

It was another very successful performance by Matthew who was also one of four athletes to win their Pro Card.
The Tall Bikini Class saw Linda Prey take second and Julie Grabowski third place. Matthew went on to compete in the Elite Pro Bikini Fitness category where she placed third, in her first pro competition. It was won by Kimberley Percival, with Michelle Seaforth in second and Matthew third.
Some 40 athletes participated in the eighth edition of the inter-island championship hosted by BFASM. The categories contested were Bikini, Men’s Physique, Wellness, Body Fitness, Bodybuilding, and Bikini Elite Pro.
Also winning the Pro Card were Bikini Short Class first place winner Lea Durand from Guadeloupe, Men’s Physique first place winner Junior Guercin, and the first-place winner in bodybuilding, José Luis from Mexico.
“The event was well attended and it shows the general public has a great interest in the sport,” said BFASM President Francois Carty. “Once again this could not be possible without the support of our sponsors, in particular St. Martin Tourism Office and the Collectivité. A special appreciation goes out to all the participants and supporters who also made it happen.”
