Clowns, complete with bright red large noses, from the Netherlands have been spotted walking the streets of Philipsburg and managed to find the Little League Ballpark on Pond Island. At the park they played ball and did tricks including spinning pans on top of poles and even managed to switch a ball for a water balloon before a pitch.
The clown visit has been organized by local clown instructor Albina Matuzko. Last month Matuzko organized a group of Clowns without Borders visit to many of the local schools. This week the Dutch clowns performed for the Little Leaguers and children and adults staying in Festival Village shelter and several other youth organizations. “Its import for people to smile,” said Matuzko.
